Shaun and I were down in Phoenix over the weekend and some of the usual hijinks ensued. We played golf in the scorching heat (seriously, why in the hell is it 105 degrees in mid-April?), and have the videos to prove it. As always, you can subscribe to our Youtube channel to get the latest updates on when things like this are put up.
We also were part of a farewell party for our news girl, Molly. No, she’s not leaving the show (despite all the content she’s made us lose). She’s going overseas for a year to help teach kids English through song and dance. Supposedly everyone was going to be swimming at this party, but Shaun and I were tricked and ended up being the only ones. I also set a modern-day record for most giant Hebrew National hot dogs eaten before swimming.
Finally, we went to the Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses concert on Saturday night. Definitely worth the money. Even though the balcony seats weren’t spectacular, they still provided a perfectly good view of the proceedings. One of the neat touches was a monitor by the conductor’s stand that allowed the conductor to sync the timing of the orchestra with videos that were playing on a giant screen in the background. It allowed the sound and video to work together to tell something like a small story and really added to the experience.
Anyway, busy weekend, and I’m sure we’ll talk more about it on this week’s show. In the meantime, here are those golf videos.
As mentioned on our Facebook page yesterday, we just passed the 10,000 hit milestone! Pretty remarkable considering we had a total of 60 in two months early on. Stop me if you’ve heard this story before: We played golf in Phoenix this past weekend.
No, wait, don’t go! There’s a new twist this time: We took the opportunity to test out some video! Ooooooo, multimedia.
See, you can never have enough content for the show. Radio’s fun and all, but shooting some footage and uploading it to YouTube is easier than ever. So now you get our usual banter and nonsense mixed with ocular enjoyment. And it never hurts to put a face to the voice.
Here are the videos from this weekend. It’s like a test run. There’s also some more notes after the jump for those who may be interested. And to top it all off, the Photos page has been updated too.
Once upon a time, I was a pretty avid golfer. I played at least a couple times a month, and I got to be pretty decent. You know, practice makes perfect and all that.
Then a funny thing happened: I started growing. For some reason, I doomed my professional career in each and every sport by quitting basketball before I grew and picking up golf after. When I tried out for the golf team my sophomore year of high school, I was still below 6 feet tall. Two years later, I was 6’6″ and none of my equipment worked anymore.
Since graduating from high school, I’ve kind of lost track of the game completely. But in the past couple years, I’ve been trying to claw my way back. Continue reading “Foresight”
