Appreciating My Manga Collections More in a COVID-19 World

July 22, 2020 Michaela

It’s hard to engage in the hobbies you enjoy when the world’s on fire. Hyperbolic? Yes. But is it that far from the truth? These days . . . no, not really. The many hobbies and activities people participated in … Continue reading Appreciating My Manga Collections More in a COVID-19 World

Happy 20th Birthday, Final Fantasy IX: Reflecting on My Favorite Game of All Time

July 7, 2020July 7, 2020 Michaela

It’s July 7th, and today marks Final Fantasy IX‘s 20th anniversary. Final Fantasy IX never reached the same heights of fame as VII or X, but it didn’t go without love, either. In the twenty year span, Final Fantasy IX … Continue reading Happy 20th Birthday, Final Fantasy IX: Reflecting on My Favorite Game of All Time

It’s been a fun, crazy ride. After 18 years of getting to know the characters and exploring the worlds, the Dark Seeker Saga came to a close with Kingdom Hearts III and its DLC episode, Re: Mind. I love this … Continue reading Ranking the Kingdom Hearts Dark Seeker Saga From Worst to Best

My Top 3 Favorite Anime Movies of the Decade

February 2, 2020June 10, 2020 Michaela

The idea that we’re in 2020 is strange, but what’s even stranger for me is reflecting on the past decade. A lot has happened — I was first introduced to anime in 2010, and since then, it’s been a decade … Continue reading My Top 3 Favorite Anime Movies of the Decade

Best Anime Openings- “REGISTER,” ASCA

November 13, 2019November 3, 2019 Michaela

Sword Art Online may have its ups and downs as a show, but overall, its openings are consistently really good, and this is true of Alicization. There are a few different versions of the opening song used throughout Sword Art … Continue reading Best Anime Openings- “REGISTER,” ASCA

Best Anime Openings/Endings- “Fatima,” Kanako Ito

November 6, 2019November 3, 2019 Michaela

What makes an anime opening work so well is the perfect combination of animation and music. The best openings, for me, have the visuals match with the music both thematically and rhythmically. At the same time, the visuals match the … Continue reading Best Anime Openings/Endings- “Fatima,” Kanako Ito

November 14, 2018March 15, 2019 Michaela

I just pre-ordered Trails of Cold Steel II: Relentless Edition today, and I couldn’t be more excited to play the game again. It also reminded me that I neglected to write a full-fledged review like I had intended to do … Continue reading My Top 5 Favorite Moments in Trails of Cold Steel I and II

September 10, 2018December 13, 2018 Michaela

I have very little exposure to the Dragon Quest series. I first attempted to play Dragon Quest VIII on my PlayStation 2 as a high school student, and while I recall very little of the short experience, I can only … Continue reading Thoughts on Dragon Quest XI: The First 10 Hours

Best Anime Openings/Endings – “Red Swan,” Yoshiki feat. Hyde

August 9, 2018November 5, 2018 Michaela

A slower, piano heavy Attack on Titan opening that isn’t by Linked Horizon that still manages to be good? How is this possible? I remember being a little disappointed when I first listened to the opening and realized that it … Continue reading Best Anime Openings/Endings – “Red Swan,” Yoshiki feat. Hyde

Objection Network

Objection Network is a pop culture extravaganza with a weekly podcast every Thursday at noon, daily Let's Play videos, and a bevy of blog posts for your enjoyment.

The current crew includes Chris and Shaun, who have been there since the beginning, and Michelle, who joined in 2014. We also have other contributors like Michaela who chip in from time to time.

We cover everything from video games, anime and movies to music, books and idiots in the news. And yes, everybody here loves Phoenix Wright, thank you for asking.

This whole thing was started as At the Buzzer in February 2011, the brainchild of three men desperate for attention. It’s slightly related to an old Flagstaff radio show from 2008, kinda like how Frasier was slightly related to Cheers. In other words, we're all getting old and it's a little depressing.
