  1. Wow, this episode made me feel far more nostalgic than was probably warranted. I used to *love* game shows. You guys mentioned some of my favs — Press Your Luck, Card Sharks, Hollywood Squares, Names that Tune, and the old Match Game being tops. I also got a kick out of Joker’s Wild and Tic-Tac-Dough. And I probably watched more Win, Lose, or Draw than any one person should have. Also Password. Though that show annoyed me because it always seemed like they picked the stupidest people to be on it.

    1. Jimmy Fallon has brought back a few smaller versions of games for his show (and it’s the only thing Fallon’s done that I can stand) — there are a handful of episodes of Password that are decent just because the players are actually good, unlike the old one. That definitely hurt it. But yeah, the scary (but neat) part of that 50 minutes about game shows is that it could have easily been twice as long, maybe more. I could talk about the turn-of-the-millennium boom in prime-time game shows for another hour, easily. lol
