I will admit that I didn’t like most of the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood openings and endings and was skipping most all of them as I watched it. The same held true for “Period” until I gave it a chance after hearing how good it was. I enjoy this opening because of the quality of the animation, particularly noticeable in the action sequences of the opening. The lyrics are very befitting of Brotherhood’s narrative as a whole. Not only that, but this opening taught me the value of actually watching and listening to them fully before skipping them or else I’d be missing out on potential greatness. As a result, it’s hard not to enjoy “Period” and appreciate it alongside the opening as a whole.
