The End of 2011

This week’s episode brings us to the end of At the Buzzer content for 2011. It’s been an interesting year. We started out with just an idea of putting together a podcast, then recorded the first episode in February and built the website in early April. Okay, the website was all me. But you get the idea.

Since then, we’ve gone from sporadic episode updates to every other week, and have been consistently posting a new episode each Thursday for a while now. The website got more hits in November than the first four months of its existence — combined. Numbers are also up on our Facebook page and we’ve gotten enough ratings on iTunes to have an average (of five stars, no less!).

I’m expecting things to continue to get bigger in 2012.

  • Posts will continue to be consistent — if there’s one thing I hate about websites, it’s when content is only posted sporadically or the producers go on a months-long hiatus.
  • We’re working to get better audio quality when we can’t be in studio because we’re in different cities (or states … or continents). I’m not thrilled with how mediocre the show sounds when we’re forced to use Skype. But I have plans. Oh yes.
  • Keep an eye out for new content as well — we’ll either be switching to a seven-days-a-week format or introducing extra posts during the weekdays. Stay tuned for more info on that in the weeks ahead.

As mentioned on the latest show, we’re taking the week off for the holiday, so there will be no posts from the 26th through the 30th. We’ll be back Monday-Friday starting Jan. 2, with another HD episode of the show on Jan. 5.

So merry Christmas, happy new year, and we’ll see you in 2012. It’s going to be a hell of a year before the world ends.
